About Marisa Ronstadt
Marisa is the lead vocalist for Monte Carlo 76’ and recently toured Brazil as a background vocalist this past summer for Aloe Blacc. Now, Marisa is ready to release her very first solo project. Produced by Grammy winning musicians Quetzal Flores and Martha Gonzalez of the East LA based band "Quetzal", Marisa Ronstadt & The Know-It-Alls latest album explores popular sounds of R & B, Soul, Indie Pop, Jazz, shades of Latin and everything in between. Marisa sings about many issues, ranging from love to community and social injustice.
Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona, Marisa’s talent isn’t limited to one area of music. She sings in English and Spanish, and has a timeless voice that lets her perform anything from jazz standard, to a heartbreaking rendition of a mariachi classic and everything in between. Hip-hop, Latin, classical, funk, R & B and gospel are among the other styles she handles with a passionate, stylish flair.
Marisa started singing at the age of 8 years old with a Phoenix-based musical revue called the Amigos, where she perfected her ability to perform music from different eras and genres, including big band, old-time rock and roll, and modern country music. She later performed with various local musical ensembles, giving Marisa the opportunity to sing across the United States and parts of Europe.
Now residing in Los Angeles, Marisa continues to collaborate and contribute her vocals to various projects and live performance groups such as Aloe Blacc, Quetzal, Maya Jupiter and B-side Players.
“Marisa Ronstadt is a powerful lyricist, a beautiful voice, an extraordinary activist from the family that gave birth to both Linda Ronstadt (aunt) and Jose Ronstadt (father)--the activist, the reporter, the anchor on Telemundo. She is beautiful, courageous and talented.” -Alfredo Gutierrez (La Frontera Times)
